This is an extremely in-depth look at the Civil War and covers many topics quite thoroughly. A minor gripe I had: while the use of reenactments of battles is not necessarily a bad thing (I’m a reenactor myself), when they use the same scenes over & over & over for many different battles it can get tiresome after a while! 3 1/2 stars.

Okay, I actually loved this movie…I opinion it was comical and spicy and fair what I needed to seek, something pointless and yet does the trick perfectly. You can always rely of Robin Williams for that. No, it’s not the smartest comedy but it’s not like we understanding we were walking into ‘Fargo’ people, we were walking into a family vacation comedy that’s tubby of slapstick laughs and base humor, and that should be what you expected. Robin Williams plays Bob, a man whose a slave to his job, a job he’s timid he may lose. He’s so timid that he actually cancels his family’s vacation to Hawaii and takes them on an RV hump to Colorado with hopes to sneak off to a meeting with his germaphobe boss in order to maintain his job. Along the arrangement (of course keeping his suitable intentions secret) he tries to recreate the bond he once had with his family. This of course starts of shakey since neither his wife (Cheryl Hines) nor his children, teenage daughter Cassie (JoJo) whose going through her rebelous “i abhor mommy and daddy” stage and his young son Carl (Josh Hutcherson) whose tremulous about his limited size, are supportive. But after all the problems with sewage, irregular hillbilly RV neighbors the Gornicke family (led by Jeff Daniels and Kristin Chenoweth) and some pesky racoons their is a family bonding moment that is shattered by a bowel scrape (sort-of) a sinking RV and the exposure of Bob’s secret meeting. In the ruin, RV may be predictable family fun, but the point composed remains that it’s family fun, and that’s gotta amount to something.
I’ve read reviews of RV, and they uniformly panned the movie as piffle; laughable tripe that reinforced family values and light humor, wasting the talents of Robin Williams.

See, the implication that the family road saunter movie is somehow a produce of high art is false to initiate with. Although my family (and my wife’s family) venerates the National Lampoon vacation movies as the ultimate in comedy, the truth of the matter is it’s all a string of droll gags and ridiculous foils. It takes precise skill to play a perpetually optimistic patriarch in the face of fresh indignities and family squabbles. If anything, the family road rush movie is really unbiased a condensed version of half the sitcoms on television. And there’s a reason those sitcoms are detached around, even though the critics patiently define over and over how unimaginative they are.

They’re legal. It IS insensible. But then, so is having to deal with the inanities of novel life. RV is merely an update of a long established tradition of pitting a man (Bob Munro played by Robin Williams), his hot wife (Cheryl Hines), his teenage daughter (Joanna Levesque) and pre-teen son (Josh Hutcherson) against the world and seeing who comes out on top. And we root for Bob all the device.
What makes RV so provocative is that it doesn’t deviate at all from the formula but cleverly updates all the trials and tribulations. Bob’s affection for his adorable daughter at two years weak is sharply contrasted by her wisecracking personality as a teenager. How many parents notice at their kids and wonder what happened to the darling who never wanted to leave their side? Bob’s career hinges on finishing a presentation, and great of the movie is taken up with his personal struggle to come by a signal for his Blackberry. Road warriors feel his afflict. And as an older, funnier man, Bob constantly has to gawk his attend as younger, inexperienced climbers try to consume the spotlight.
In short, the Monroe struggles are the current struggles of the middle class. Obvious, Clark Griswold didn’t have these problems, but then the National Lampoon movies were made decades ago. RV brings it all up to date with one difference: unlike Cousin Eddie and his brood, the country folk are actually the wiser and more decent family. We could learn a lot from their home values, preaches Brother Sonnenfeld. Maybe he’s true.
When RV was playing at my parents’ house, we were waiting for my brother to join us to peek a DVD. Instead, we watched (and laughed at) RV all the scheme through.

I judge myself lucky to accept this cult classic on DVD with an awesome deep blue conceal and the words “unrated, uncensored”. Although I’ve been watching it so many times on video, the uncut version on DVD including some newly restored footage is a dependable bonus, let alone its other bonus materials, like the commentaries and a whole bunch of deleted scenes. “Crimes of Passion” is the kind of film that ignites different thoughts on each viewer’s mind, although the talents of its director and actors are undeniable to everybody. The sarcastic, witty dialogue is another achievement that can be fairly compared to “All About Eve”. I for one have been deeply impressed by the innumerable outrageously humorous lines exchanged among the characters. One line, however, sounded like a black memorable quote, not impartial because it wrapped up the whole space but it also reminded us of an exceptionally talented and ill-fated actor — Anthony Perkins: “Goodbye, China Blue”.
This movie is faulty! I have loved it since the first time I saw it befriend in ‘84. Turner is like a shipshape nova in this movie fair blazing across the camouflage. The arrangement she primps, struts, prisses, and drops her one-liner heavy dialogue is a delight. Perkins is creepy as hell and the hole thing objective keeps pushing the envelope further and further. Definitely not for everybody, but if you have the taste for the bizarre, graphic, over-the-top filmaking, you’ll admire it.

Hence we reach: The Slight Mermaid: Return To The Sea, a highly fitting ending to the trilogy. Here Ariel gives birth to a daughter named Melody. But Ursula’s bad sister Morganna wishes to expend Melody in order to recall King Trition’s tridant and retract over the sea (something her sister had failed to do) . Ariel sees no choice but to seperate Melody from the sea and shroud her mermaid heritage from her. She finally understands why her father wished to protect her in the new film and, when Melody runs away, seeks to boom her daughter the truth and finally restore the alliance of land and sea that was broken so many years before.
Overall the series is highly strong as a trilogy. There are themes that echo throughout all three films unifying them as if they were originally intended to be viewed as one. Seeing Ariel grow as a character is most absorbing as is the progression of many of the characters in the saga. The music is fair in all three films and the recurrance of the ‘Part Of Your World’ theme as a tie between all three films really brings everything together. It is especially much in ‘Return To The Sea’ in the ultimate climax of the series in which choices must be made by not only Ariel but also her daughter. The other thing that is most gratifying is the theme explored in the films about parents and children. Ariel’s bond to her mother through song, her strained relationship with her father and finally her relationship with her acquire child really gives the series a link that emotionally holds the series together and really makes for a satisfying climax in Return To The Sea.
Overall I recommend these films be viewed as one. I appreciate the current Runt Mermaid and I feel as a series, watched in order, this is the strongest trilogy Disney has ever produced.
This is the best deal in obtaining all three parts of the movie at a reasonable sign.

I really can’t understand how this one didn’t glean five stars from everyone here. I mean I know that tastes differ, but I mediate people may have been expected something this one couldn’t possibly bid. As a comedy, it is absolutely phenomenal. I really have to say that it’s the only movie of the nineties that can match up with Stripes or Animal House. It’s utterly improbable.

There’s Something about Mary is a mélange of every kind of comedy. There’s slapstick, physical location, and luminous social satire. This movie made Ben Stiller and rightly so. I rob seeing it in the theatre and not being able to breathe at times due to the convulsions erupting from my abdomen. No time was this more factual than when Stiller walks into the jubilant rest terminate and gets busted, but there are a million scenarios that could be cited. All the actors were sensational. Matt Dillon’s character is glorious in his cheesiness and he really excels in his role especially when he’s playing football with the “retards” and showing off his sensitive side by pummeling them on the gridiron. Chris Elliot is exceptional in his role and any film that features Jonathan Richman that noteworthy is special and rare. I could not recommend this one any more.
You will laugh from begining to demolish with this movie. The humor is very indecent at times, but not raunchy. I found myself saying,”oh my” and at the same time laughing out loud.
The storyline is unpredictable and extremely savory.
It is a comedy and appreciate narrative all in one, intertwined superbly.
I wouldn’t recommend watching this with your mom and dad. I am 37 and would have crawled under the carpet if my mom and dad were in the room watching this movie during the scenes “before the stout date.”

Ok ive noticed that a few reviewers were questioning the fact that Raphael and Donatello have different voices in a few episodes. There is nothing foul with your DVDs, the reason their voices sound different is because the people doing their voices were different. For whatever reason Catch Paulsen and Barry Gordon, who usually voiced Raphael and Donatello, were not there at the recording of those episodes. Each character had their occupy relieve up actor in case someone was absent for the recording of the episode, so that is all it is. Since the 1989 Season had so many episodes that happends from time to time with Donatello (and Bebop), Raphael, Shredder and Krang. So for future releases dont be surprised if you recognize that again. After the 1989 Season most of the usual allege actors were there for the recordings except for some of the last seasons. So anyway, sorry for the long explanation but that is what it is so everyone knows.
As far as the DVD goes, I mild believe Artisan should have impartial released the whole 1989 Season in a boxset (like most tv shows) instead of these twice a year, 12 episode, dvds. But I can’t complain too distinguished since they are releasing all of them in order, even though it will win years before all the episodes are out. The quality of the episodes are well-behaved but everything else is unprejudiced glowing remarkable bare bones. It would be nice if there were at least a few extras included, but again it is calm nice they continue to release TMNT on DVD. With a cheap trace it is a splendid grasp, but unprejudiced dont inquire of anything exstensive.

Vol. 4 of the recent TMNT cartoon covers the next 1/4 of season 3, bringing us to halfway through the season. This volume is where some alternate voices are brought in for a few of the characters, notably Raph and Don, who both also would exclaim them in a few future episodes; Raph’s in the “Turtle Terminator” and an entire storyarc that featured the Turtles vacationing in Europe; Don’s in the “Turtle Terminator” as well, plus Leatherhead’s debut episode and an episode of the Europe arc.
TMNT alum Casey Jones finally gets to accomplish his piquant debut in “Casey Jones: Outlaw Hero.” He appeared in a few other episodes as well, such as “Night of the Rogues,” “Leonardo Cuts Loose,” and “Cyber Turtles.” On an moving effect, this show’s version of Casey was never seen without his trademark hockey conceal.

The tenth episode marks Baxter’s return in “Return of the Soar.” Interestingly enough, it also features the Rat King as a somewhat ally for the Turtles, who briefly appears to give them some info when Shredder captures April yet again. Personally, I liked this development for him, as it made his accurate allegiences unclear. While he would aloof appear to menace the green teens, he would also appear in other episodes like this one to unexpectedly give the Turtles info or advice. Too dreadful his character was all but runied in season 8 when he was turned into a trench-coat and fedora clad gun-toting assassin.
This also has one of my well-liked episodes in the series, and hands down the funniest: Cowabunga Shredhead. In it, Shredder and Krang attempt to execute duplicates of the world leaders in order to rob over the world. Shredder also attempts to obtain a duplicate of Michelangelo in order to infiltrate the Turtles and extinguish them. Thanks to Bebop and Rocksteady’s usual meddling though, everything goes evil and in the extinguish Shredder winds up thinking he’s the right Michelangelo. Shredder’s moments believing he’s the orange-clad turtle are absolutely hilarious, and hands down some of the best-written humor I’ve seen on television. The scene where he screams, “Turtle Power!” at the top of his lungs alone is priceless.
Like with volume 3, I consider the steady captivating main menu is incredibly wintry looking, and it’s broad that the video quality has increased with each volume(compare this to vol. 1’s grainy quality) . Sadly, I’d at least like to inspect a few extras. Maybe some interviews with the writers or VAs, or how the cartoon was able to last a whopping 10 seasons, or even the classic TMNT toy commercials that featured clips of the cartoon with dubbed-over dialoge. Oh well, hopefully Lion’s Gate finally realizes this sooner than later. Until then, I’m at least pleased that I can add yet another classic childhood memory to my DVD collection.

If you’re outlandish with Frida Kahlo, this is a respectable “Introduction to Frida Kahlo 101″. On a scale of 1-to-10 I would rate this documentary a 6.

OK, briefly, women’s prison movie, two guys present up, they relieve the girls rush, end warden, the destroy. Franco, so that means a lot of amusing camera effects, but no red and green lights this time. I deem that about covers it.
The most involving thing about this particular version is that everyone is topless, all the prisoners, most of the guards and even the (female) warden, all the time. Aside from lingerie, they don’t even appear to gain tops! There’s a lot of R sex and nudity, and that’s about it, practically no torture or whipping (which, considering Franco’s lack of skill in filming such scenes is probably a blessing) . There’s also a lot that makes no sense, like, what exactly is the topless chain gang trying to effect hacking at the soil most of the procedure through the relate? And why, after all their breasts earn dirty from working all day, is there no shower scene? There should be ten shower scenes in this thing, it looked exquisite hot and sweaty to me, wherever it was filmed. Of course, the main purpose of shower scenes is to point to some nudity, and there’s no need for an excuse here, this looks like a nudie parody of a women’s prison film.
Well, never mind, picking at a Franco film is a fair empty spend, but there’s really not considerable here for fans of sex sleaze, despite the screaming DVD box descriptions, as usual. There’s one minor pinning the medal on the prisoner (no shirt and no medal), but it pales next to the “Corrupt Warden” pin scene. But all those swinging and bouncing boobs . . . we’ll have to give it two stars for the NTRL factor alone (nudity to total running length), which is about 98%, a recount.
This movie comes with a lot of hype but very minute substance. We inaugurate with a newlywed couple who drive onto private property. The man is let go, but the woman is thrown in a women’s prison. A prison where guards and prisoners all go topless. A tyrannical and sadistic warden watches over all.

But the warden and the prison seem to be around solely for the help of the Governor and his wife as they win advantage of the availability of the female captives.
Throw in a cramped slavery, prostitution, and the return of the modern husband curved on rescuing his bride and you fine mighty have the whole film.
Nudity, scandalous sex, and violence are in almost every single scene. But there is miniature or no feeling of connection in the movie. The warden’s wife is trying to have his baby but some of the methods are suspect. The warden becomes a simpering ditz in the extinguish. Too many of the characters witness alike and cause confusion.

This is a generous movie if you want to view at topless women, but if you want narrative or any dependable drama, this is one to avoid.

Given the new world political climate, Trey Parker and Matt Stone hit the ball honest out of the park with this film. I haven’t laughed so hard so frequently in a theater in years! This was simply extraordinary.
The sheer goofy peruse and movement of the deliberately low-tech puppet bodies, combined with their high-tech heads and incredibly interpret sets, makes for some truly classic moments. When the World Police thoughtfully swoop down to purchase out a handful of terrorist, while simultaneously destroying worthy of the surrounding city in the process, you can’t encourage but laugh at the irony. Can you say “collateral wound”?

And the overly extended scene of the two lead puppets intriguing in the obligatory sex scene had me laughing so uncontrollably that I belief they’d have to seize me out of the theater on a stretcher. Oh my Lord was that laughable. It was one of those rare movie moment that had me laughing days later unbiased thinking about it.
Not only do Parker and Stone mercilessly traipse fun at the droll, over-the-top nature of obvious Hollywood filmmakers like Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay (e.g., his nearly unwatchable “Pearl Harbor”), but they also acquire the public personas of world leaders like North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il and practically feed them into a wood chipper. How this film didn’t spark an international PR incident with North Korea is objective unbelievable to me.
What makes their political edge so refreshing and sidesplitting is they’re willingness to select on everybody, rather than merely bolstering a right- or left-wing concept. And the merciless device they go after Hollywood celeb-activists was profoundly humorous. Too often I’ve been sickened by the overly simplistic mentality that comes from the mouths of obvious actors when they exhaust their site as public figures to comment on the world affairs. Parker and Stone record acting notables like Penn, Baldwin, Robbins, Sarandon, and Garofalo as complete idiots, who are as easily herded about by Kim Jong-Il as so many sheep. Matt Damon is practically a troglodyte who is so slow that all his brain can manage is to say his name over and over again.
Like “South Park Bigger, Longer and Uncut,” this film has numerous musical numbers that are worn to punctuate the humor of various scenes. The song “America, F**k Yeah!” once again practically had me on the floor, especially when it was uses a second time but with a powerful slower beat. The level of adult humor and vulgarity here will probably not form this film superb for itsy-bitsy kids, and mighty of the political edginess may be lost on most teenagers. But if there were a category for “Best Comedy Film,” Parker and Stone would both collect an Oscars, hands down!
Trey Parker and Matt Stone have a novel ability to blend the nuanced with the certain, to mix cerebral humor with cheap view gags and fart jokes. If this appeals to you (behold an episode of “South Park” if you are unsure), and you don’t mind having your sacred cows slaughtered and made into taco fillings, this film is a must-see –for repeated viewings.
Mad dictator Kim Jong Il plans to subvert Hollywood and become the megaproliferant of the stars. Who can cessation him? Only Team America, a gang of ultra-right soar marionettes who reflect Speed Limbaugh is suspiciously liberal. But don’t fret, conservatives: Hollywood pinkos and Michael Moore purchase a beating, too. Nothing is sacred to Parker and Stone.
Puppets were a angry choice for a medium, but they are done hysterically. I don’t know what had me laughing more, the whiskey glass soldered to the team leader’s hand, or the belief of the splinters and friction fire from marionette sex!
The sound track alone makes this film worth it. “Freedom isn’t Free” could have been a precise country hit and Kim singing “I’m so ronery” had my wife blowing her cola out her nose in the theater!
If you are straight-laced, have a unpleasant sense of humor and can’t admit it, or can’t laugh at yourself, this may not be you’re film. If you’ve got a slightly warped sense of humor, you’ll fancy this!

TELL NO ONE (Ne le dis à personne) succeeds on every level for this viewer. Based on Harlan Coben’s new and adapted for the veil and directed by Guillaume Canet, this is one of those intricately complex French films that is considerable in the same mode as the 1955 film LES DIABOLIQUES. Nothing is as it appears at first and even when the mystery is explained in what appears to be a systematic, cohesive manner, the ‘real story’ remains a conundrum. It is a lustrous diminutive film well worth multiple viewings to fully delight in all of the aspects of the delicate acting, cinematography, direction and musical scoring.

In a misty opening we gape Alexandre Beck (François Cluzet) and his handsome wife Margot (Marie-Josée Croze) only to abruptly be drawn into the destroy of Margot and the beating of Alexandre. The incidents are shrouded in mystery and remain so for eight years when suddenly the now pediatrician Alexandre receives an email from the ‘deceased’ Margot. Alexandre’s world is topsy turvy and he begins to piece the irregular incident with his family – his sister Anne (Marina Hines) and her lover Hélène (a handsome Kristin Scott Thomas), his father, Margot’s family…and the police who open to recognize evidence that implicates Alexandre as the perpetrator. Alexandre’s lawyer (Nathalie Baye) pits evidence against the police investigators while Alexandre’s chief ally in his hasten from the accusers is Bruno (Gilles Lellouche), the father of a hemophiliac patient whom Alexandre has treated and befriended. The scramble is on and the clues become increasingly puzzling until at last the truth of the now eight year veteran kill and all of the implications of that event unfold.
If there are seemingly holes in the fable it is because we, the audience, are never quite positive about the twists and turns of the place. The acting is salubrious from this cast of some of France’s finest artists, and one of the best performances in the film comes from British actress Kristin Scott Thomas, reminding us that she is one of the most talented and handsome actors on the hide today! This is a tough petite film to follow, but the quality of both the yarn and the production is first rate. Highly Recommended. Grady Harp, October 08
This is a very engaging thriller, in the tradition of American films like The Fugitive, but with a fresh edge that makes it distinctively French and deliciously diabolical. It is certainly darker (and funnier) than The Fugitive, but it is no accident that there is an American feel, since it is based on a book by Harlan Coben.

Eight years after his wife’s brutal destroy, unusual clues emerge that lead police to once again suspect that Alexander Beck may have killed her. At the same time, he begins to reflect she may be detached alive, and is frantic to regain her before he is arrested as a suspect for another related homicide. Director Guillaume Canet keeps you guessing as the set thickens, revealing bits and pieces of the past as fresh circumstances assist Beck to recognize that he didn’t know his wife as well as he had understanding.
The film looks immense, with editing and camera work that helps to effect a perfect balance of subtle tension and intensity. The performances are all very strong — and there is a surprisingly intense performance by a bit player, a obvious and remorseless gargantuan and skinny female assassin/torture expert, that mild haunts me. In fact, I would go as far as to say that her performance created one of the most unsightly villians I’ve seen on the shroud in a long time — even more than the performance of Javier Bardem as Chigurh in No Country for Weak Men — because it was impartial as intense but more plausible. Definitely recommended for lovers of French Cinema, but also for those who contemplate that French films tend to be too cerebral and cannot say the thrills. This one hits you in both the brain and the gut.
